Pencils are my way of telling stories on paper. Stories like these that the eye suddenly perceives and for a second something in the universe stops. The most special experience for me is when other people identify with these stories, find their place in them and give them meaning and a new world. I draw ideas for my paintings from small, everyday situations that interest me, that speak to a moment in life that we can all identify with. I love exploring everything related to nostalgia, childhood and people and what is revealed when we look at a painting. After all, there is a child in each of us. I draw the situations from my personal memories and imaginations or from photos from trips that I take and turn into a painting. The process of moving from what I imagined to its expression on paper always fascinates me and I always wait to find out what the final result will be.
