My name is Mali (Amalia) Zilberman, a multidisciplinary artist from Ramat Yishai in the Jezreel Valley. I have been involved in jewelry making for the past 15 years, and about 5 years ago I started painting and working with peanut prints. The two fields flow into each other and allow me to create pictures (WALL ART) simultaneously with incorporating sections of the print as part of a piece of jewelry.
My connection with nature has always been a source of strength, healing and peace, and in recent years it has also become an inspiration and an active material in the creative process. For me, plants are both the paintbrush and the creation, and they are the basis of every work. I build my story using layers of pencil, pen, charcoal, pastels, acrylic and watercolor drawings on a botanical print in its many forms. The encounter between transparency and opacity, between color and material, creates the three-dimensionality of the work in my works, photographs and jewelry. I seek to open a visual discussion, and remind the viewer of the experience of direct and immediate contact with nature.

Every time I collect the plants that will be the backbone of the next piece of work, I hear in my head the chatter of a little girl (me) sitting in a field facing the sea in Haifa, next to the pine trees, among the flowers, and feeling most at home.
